DECEMBER 2002
December 7th 2002:
- I added the scans of all the NES-e Series 2 e-Cards in the
e-Card Catalog, in addition to 2 Animal Crossing-e cards.
- The latest Nintendo Power promotional e-Card has also been added, which
is the "NES Link" Design Card usable with Animal Crossing. Special
thanks go to Luke (a.k.a. Luke8400 on the IGN Forum) for scanning
this card for me. :-)
- Speaking of Nintendo Power, the December issue mentions that the second
series of Animal Crossing-e cards will be released in January 2003. In
that issue, you will also find a large checklist poster which shows pictures
of all the character cards of this second series (#061 to #118). There's no
mention of any "Town Tune" or "Design Card" in this second series, but there
will be a new kind of e-Card called the "Mini-Game" card: You swipe this
e-Card in your e-Reader to load the mini-game (like "Animal Relay" or "Jump
Rope"), and then scan three character cards to insert those characters into
the mini-game. The "Animal Relay" game pictured in the magazine seems very
basic, almost like an old Atari 2600 game with slightly better graphics...
- All the news items for November have been moved to the News Archive
section. I also updated the Future Releases and F.A.Q. sections.
December 23rd 2002:
- The last two Animal Crossing-e card scans have (finally) been added
to the e-Card Catalog. All the cards are now pictured!
- I happen to have a number of duplicates in my collection of Animal
Crossing-e cards. Click here to see the list, and
if there's something you want, just e-mail
me. I'm willing to be flexible, but please keep in mind that I am NOT
interested in trading, since my collection is complete, and also because my
goal is to get rid of my duplicates.
- Want to see what an e-Card data strip looks like? Head over to the
F.A.Q. section, where I updated the answer to the question "Can't
e-Cards be (illegaly) reproduced with a scanner and a printer?"
- Hints from certain sources indicate that the next series of Pokémon
e-Cards (Pokémon-e Aquapolis) is due for January 2003, not spring
2003 as I previously stated. This new series will contain 186 cards, and
since the next series of Animal Crossing-e cards is also due for
January, I think we'll soon have new e-Cards coming out of our ears! ;-P
- The January 2003 issue of Nintendo Power magazine (which I received today
in the mail) discloses some info, card pictures and screenshots of the
upcoming Mario Party-e card game. The release date is set for Febuary
2003.
- I don't expect to make any more updates to this web site until January,
so until then, I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! See you in
2003! :-)
